Setting up Apple School Manager REST Target from the Catalog
Apple School Manager supports the 1EdTech OneRoster standard for secure and reliable exchange of roster information using Claris Connect and RapidIdentity Studio has a preconfigured Target Application for Apple School Manager in the Studio Applications Catalog for rostering with ASM.
Rostering with Apple School Manager:
Start by accessing the Studio > Applications tab in RapidIdentity. Click on Add Application and select From App Library.
Enter Apple School Manager in the search bar and select Apple School Manager REST to use the OneRoster standard with ASM via Claris Connect.
Once you've select Apple School Manager REST check the checkbox next to it and then click Install.
If needed, you can customize the name of the Application at this stage.
Proceed by clicking Install to initiate the installation process.
After Installation, select the appropriate Credential Type
After installation, click Generate Client ID
- Be sure to specify the appropriate Requested Scopes such as Roster Core, Roster and Demographics as appropriate.
Confirm your action by clicking Yes.
Click Update Consumer Secret.
Generate a new Consumer Secret by clicking Generate Consumer Secret.
Copy the Client ID and the generated Clikent Secret. You'll need this to provide these credentials to the Apple School Manager administrator.
Confirm your choice by clicking Yes.
Finally, save your settings by clicking Save.
IMPORTANT: Provide the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret to the Apple School Manager administrator. You will need to schedule the Mapping jobs to run early enough or frequently enough that ASM can always get the most accurate data whenever they access the records.
