Adding Custom Attributes in IDHub
Active Directory source data may include custom attributes that need to be imported for your lifecycle implementation. There are two pathways through which these custom attributes can be added to the Active Directory Source Adapter.
Option 1: Manual Addition
When a small number of custom attributes are necessary, they can be manually added through the Custom Attributes tab in the AD Source Adapter. For each addition, the following values are required: Name of the attribute, the data type of the attribute, and if the attribute is multi-valued. A Friendly Name and a Description can also be added for the custom attribute. Once manually added, the added custom attributes will be visible in the Mapping tab for this adapter.
Option 2: CSV Import
When it is necessary to create multiple custom attributes, it may be more convenient to use the CSV Import option. The CSV template can be downloaded by clicking here, which can then be populated with the information for the Custom Attributes. Please see the table below for details on template, required columns, and acceptable values.
Column Title | Required? | Description of Field |
---|---|---|
name | Yes | Name of Custom Attribute |
display-name | No | Friendly Name of Custom Attribute |
description | No | Description of Custom Attribute |
value-type | No | Type of value for attribute Accepted Values: string, object |
multi-valued | Yes | Is the attribute able to have multiple values? Accepted Values: yes, no |
entity-type | Yes | Which entity type is this attribute related to? Accepted Values: person, group |
Once the CSV is ready, it can be uploaded under the Custom Attributes tab in the Active Directory Source Adapter. After a successful import, the custom attributes will be visible in Mappings.
